Section 2 – Hazards Identification

This section communicates:
• The classification: either non-hazardous or hazardous
• The Dangerous Goods classification (ADG) – Class 8: Corrosive Substances
• A statement of the overall hazardous nature; it may be Irritating or Flammable for example.
• GHS signal word (this also confirms that the SDS is in the GHS format now required in most states)
• Hazard Statement: e.g. causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
• Prevention: advice to reduce risk of hazard.
• Response: first aid advice if a person is exposed to a product.
