1.19 How to Dispose of Chemical Solutions

Used working solutions made up of water-based chemicals can be dumped into the sewer by pouring out mop buckets or emptying machine tanks into a trough, sink basin, internal floor waste, or toilet.

Never pour solutions down the external stormwater drains. Stormwater drains can lead directly to natural waterways which must not be contaminated with chemicals.

Do not dispose of large quantities of concentrated chemicals down the sewer or stormwater drains.

Unwanted chemicals should be sent to the local Council Depot or another chemical disposal contractor.
