FOR LARGER AREAS, SEALER CAN BE APPLIED BY POURING AND SPREADING:
Use a proper applicator mop made of lambswool, nylon or polycotton as they do not leave any lint. Cotton dust fringes cause coats which are too thick. Rinse new applicators in clean water first. Always use clean applicators that are kept for polishing only.
Pour the sealer along the middle of the section to be sealed typically about two or three inches (5 to 10cm) wide from either a 5 litre bottle or a watering can with a restricted outlet on the spout (Some use a rubber glove over outlet with three holes).
Pour smoothly without splashing – splashes can dry prematurely leaving imperfections in the finish.
IMPORTANT
Spread the pour line as soon as possible after pouring. Leaving the poured sealer to sit for too long may cause pour lines. (Sealer is a mix of polymer, resin, wax and solvent in water. Until the sealer cures, the solvent can act as a stripper.)
Lay sealer up to edges with first and last coats only.
For wide areas, spread sealer only as wide (no more than 2 metres) as you can reach with the applicator handle. Work along this section, then go back and pour and spread on the section next to it.
DO NOT OVERLAP THESE SECTIONS!
Keep the other coats 20cm from the edge.
Lay sealer as thinly as possible:
