2.12 No.11 – Chlorinated Cleaners & Sanitisers

Use for disinfecting and cleaning toilets, urinals, showers, baths, surgeries, kitchens, food processing areas and tiles. BLEACH is also used for cleaning mops.

These products are normally diluted with water before use – check the instructions on the label.

CHLORADET – a highly concentrated, high-foaming cleaner with a bleaching action. Excellent sanitiser.
(Note: this product is classified as Class 8 – Corrosive)

BLEACH – a solution of sodium hypochlorite in water; it is an effective method of killing undesirable microorganisms (Note: this is not a detergent)

Note:
The products in this category contain chlorine which can bleach the fabric.

  • Never use on carpet, upholstery, curtains, or drapes. Avoid contact with clothing
  • Make sure you know the necessary PPE required before using these products
  • Safety and handling information can be found on the product label or the SDS
  • Check with your supervisor before using BLEACH or CHLORADET for the first time
  • Never mix BLEACH or CHLORADET with any dark blue No. 4 Toilet & Washroom Cleaners. This mixture will create chlorine gas (mustard gas) which is poisonous.
